A message from the principal

Dear Students/ Parents,

KP-TEVTA was established through an enactment in 2015 with the objective of imparting technical education and vocational skills through institutions under its administrative and regulatory control. This education is based on syllabi that are internationally acceptable, accredited by national and international institutions, responsive to market needs, and provides nationally and internationally recognized hands-on experience for trainees.

Govt: Polytechnic Institute, Sardar Garhi, Peshawar is one of the state-of-the-art technical institutes in the province, imparting technical education and skills in line with the objectives and spirit of the KP-TEVTA Act, 2015. The institute is equipped with well-established laboratories, including computer, physics, chemistry and comprehensive mechanical shops in Civil, Electrical, and Electronic Technologies for delivering practical training in addition to theoretical instruction. In addition to tools and equipment, adequate training materials are available in the relevant labs and workshops to facilitate hands-on learning. The institute also boasts a highly qualified, enthusiastic, and passionate faculty.

An Institute Management Committee (IMC), led by a non-official member (from the private sector), has been constituted and activated to foster linkages with industry and employers for the placement of graduates. In addition to imparting knowledge and skills, we focus strongly on shaping the attitude and behavior of our trainees. Therefore, we believe that after completing the three-year course at this institute, you will not only have gained sufficient knowledge and skills in your chosen field, but also developed a positive attitude that will enhance your overall competency.

Technical education and vocational training play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the country. It is, therefore, our responsibility to focus on technician education and provide competency-based training to enable graduates to compete in the international job market. This approach will contribute to poverty alleviation in the region and enhance livelihoods, living standards, and the economy.

We believe in the TVET sector’s definition of “quality” as “continually striving to improve what we do; offering clients, industry, and the general community products and services that meet, if not exceed, their needs and expectations.” Implementing a Quality System is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding task. It can bring substantial benefits for you, your staff, your clients, and the TVET sector as a whole. These objectives and standards can be achieved through professional dedication, leadership, commitment, self-esteem, sustained effort, and a clear vision. All students are encouraged to take a keen interest in both curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the institute.

Finally, the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said: “One who earns by struggle is a friend of Allah.” We cordially welcome all of you to GPI Sardar Garhi, Peshawar.
